CONNECTIONS

The Vanguard Way connects with at least 15 other promoted walking routes: Wandle Trail, London Loop, Tandridge Border Path, North Downs Way, Greensand Way, London Countryway, Eden Valley Walk, High Weald Landscape Trail, Forest Way, Ashdown Forest Perambulation, Wealdway, Sussex Border Path, Wealden Walks, South Downs Way and Sussex Ouse Valley Way - all fine routes in their different ways.

The first 10 km of the Vanguard Way lie within Greater London, and the Vanguard Way is linked with the London Strategic Walk Network through the London Loop, whose route it shares for 3 km in the Selsdon area.  There are currently five other routes in this network - Capital Ring, Green Chain Walk, Jubilee Walkway, Lea Valley Walk and Thames Path - and more are expected to be added in the near future.  Further details of the London Strategic Walk Network and its routes can be obtained at the Walk London website.
